Dear Extended Cobble Hill LifeCare Family,

This morning we were informed of four additional employees testing positive for COVID-19. These employees were immediately taken off schedule and placed on quarantine. We also had 9 additional residents test positive from floor 4B and 5B. As we have mentioned in past communications, isolating residents on our dementia unit is difficult. Our general approach is not to move those residents unless it would serve them well by doing so. We evaluate each resident individually and figure out the best plan of care.

This strain of COVID-19 is easily passed from person to person. It is for this reason we implore you to please arrange for virtual visits at this time. We are happy to arrange virtual visits, till we see the numbers start to decline. If, however, you do choose to visit your loved one in person, we will now require you to take a rapid COVID test on-site when you arrive. Please be patient as this takes time and we are working hard with fewer staff.

Please also know that visiting in person will also place you at risk. You will likely be exposed during your visit.

If you have any specific questions or concerns about this, I encourage you to reach out to us via the COVID hotline at (718) 247-1153 or email us at covid19@cobblehill.org.

Thank you for working with us and our staff during this difficult time.

Thank you.
