Dear Extended Cobble Hill LifeCare Family,

Over the course of the past few days we received three new positive staff cases.   One we believe is false and are awaiting confirmation from the lab.  All three are quarantining at home.

After careful contact tracing, we don’t believe any residents were exposed and therefore will not be quarantining any additional units.

While it is certainly possible that we will see an increase in cases amongst our staff and residents as COVID spreads more widely throughout the community, I want to reassure you that we are in a much better place with PPE supplies, testing and our ability to quarantine.  We are super vigilant with testing and early detection of possible signs of infection and are constantly reevaluating our systems to enhance them.

We are also eagerly awaiting additional information on the COVID vaccine.  As you may have heard, nursing home residents and staff will be the first to receive the vaccine once it is approved by the FDA and released to New York State.  We expect to learn more about this in the next day or two and will update you accordingly.

If you have any specific questions or concerns about this, I encourage you to reach out to us via the COVID hotline at (718) 247-1153 or email us at covid19@cobblehill.org.

Warm regards,

Donny Tuchman
