Dear Extended Cobble Hill LifeCare Family,
Since my last communication we’ve had two staff and two residents test positive. Among them are suspected false positives. Both staff members are quarantining at home until confirmation is received from the lab. Both residents have been moved to the COVID unit as well.
I’m thrilled to report that we had a very successful COVID vaccine clinic this week. A majority of our residents consented to being vaccinated as did many of our staff. The second vaccine clinic will be January 18th. I strongly urge any residents who didn’t receive the vaccine yet to get vaccinated on the 18th. It is likely the last opportunity in the foreseeable future to get vaccinated here. We are also pushing our staff to get vaccinated as well. All residents and staff that received the first dose this week will receive the second dose on the 18th as well.
We are grateful that there were only some mild and expected reactions to the vaccine (ie: arm soreness, chills etc…) and no severe adverse reactions amongst any staff or residents vaccinated. Our clinical team did a fantastic job managing the many logistics of the day. Our pharmacy partner even complimented us on it being the most organized and successful one yet!
As a result of the new positive cases, the following units are unfortunately being placed on quarantine out of an abundance of caution: 4A and 3B.
If you have any specific questions or concerns about this or anything else, I encourage you to reach out to us via the COVID hotline at (718) 247-1153 or email us at covid19@cobblehill.org.
Warm regards,
Donny Tuchman
