New York Times staff writer Alex Witchel discussed her dementia memoir “All Gone” on Wednesday, November 28 at Cobble Hill Health Center. She spoke about her own experience and read excerpts from the book. The event was attended by staff members who found it highly illuminating to hear an articulate and concerned caregiver describe what she goes through when caring for a loved one with dementia.
“We are very happy to have had the opportunity to talk to Ms. Witchel about her experiences,” said Tony Lewis, Cobble Hill’s CEO and President. “Dementia is a condition that affects more than the patient. It affects the family profoundly. Writing about her own struggle with her mother’s dementia I’m sure has allowed others going through the same thing to feel they are not alone in many of their responses.”
